Our Sessions

Discovery Nursery & Pre-School follows the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum and provides an environment and activities to develop children of 2 years+ with social, communication and physical skills, learning through exploration, discovery and problem solving, and we introduce them to early literacy and numeracy skills.

Our dedicated team organise a number of special events throughout the year including Outings, Open Days, Charity Events and various visitor appreances including Story Tellers, EY Sports Coaches, monthly Fun Day with Mark from Just4Fun Entertainment and a whole lot more!

Resources and activities are constantly updated to keep abreast of current teaching and learning practices.

We provide lots of exciting indoor & outdoor activities for your child to explore as they learn through their play. These may include:

Play dough
Water & sand play
Messy play arts and crafts (with free choice resource trolley)
Home corner
Amazing Maths (colourful learning toys/boards to count, match, sort and discover & shape, colour and size)
Story time
Our little world (e.g. tractors, cars, animals, figures etc)
Dressing up and role play
Mini construction (e.g. wooden blocks, Duplo, Mobilo)
Music box
Physical play (e.g. balls, hoops, ride-ons, slides, soft play gym trail & shapes)

Vegetable and flower gardens

For our older children we work on school readiness which helps prepare the children for Primary School by introducing them to a classroom-like structure and routine, nurturing them towards investigating advanced skills and concepts. The emphasis remains as always on learning through play, each child wll be supported and learning extended through each carefully planned activity to reach their full developmental goal.

We offer a lunch club everyday, children bring along a packed lunch from home and join their friends in this social activity, sitting and eating appropriately all together so that they get used to having this type of facility before they move on to school.

Breakfast & After school clubs

Breakfast and After School Clubs are available for children attending on a full or part time basis.

In the morning your children will have breakfast in the Jungle Diner and will join their friends for the start of the day in the main classroom. At the end of the nursery & pre-school day children will go to the Jungle Diner to enjoy a healthy snack and a drink.

There is also the opportunity to choose from a range of fun and creative activities inside and outside. We appreciate that some children may be tired at the at the end of the nursery & pre-school day and so we will provide opportunity for rest, relaxation and quiet activities both in and outdoors
